Wedding Prep

Today marks exactly 4 months out from my wedding!! I can't believe how fast time has gone! For those of you who don't know, I'm getting married in the Dominican Republic (keeping my fingers crossed that hurricane Maria doesn't hit our resort too hard!) So of course I want to look extra sharp in my wedding dress, but with it being a destination wedding I will also be rocking a bikini for 10 days on the beach. That being said, my wedding preparations are beginning and I thought what better way to get my blog started again than let everyone in on what I'm doing leading up to the big day.

This morning I weighed in at 140.6 pounds. Although it's taken me quite a while to actually feel comfortable in my skin at this weight, which I do now, I am aiming to lose between 5-10 pounds in the next 4 months. Being someone who has dieted many times for figure competitions, I still want to feel balanced and healthy without feeling too deprived and sucked back into and all or nothing mentality. But being that I am already a lean person (I never would have said that about myself 3-4 years ago), I have to be extra diligent with my diet to lean out even more. I am starting simple, tracking my food intake, still practicing my healthy habits, and incorporating some fun foods to help keep that balance.

My training is going to change. For most of the last 12 years, I've trained like a bodybuilder, meaning splitting my weekly workouts into body parts, training 1-2 muscle groups per day. More recently, within the last year or so, I started adding in some strength focus training and teaching myself some of the olympic lifts; you know, just for fun :) I'm not sure if I will step on a figure stage again, which means building more muscle is not a priority for me at the moment, and I am ready to change things up again. I'm still planning the details, but I am going to start doing more circuit style training to see how my body responds and spice things up.

Stay tuned for more updates, and consistent blog posts, progress photos, and check out my new revamped website!
