Favorite Fitness Gadgets

We all need certain accessories in life to make things more enjoyable and doable on a day to day basis. Fitness is no different. When you are trying to stay consistent with a workout program, motivation comes and goes. Some days are easier to hit it hard and some days are a massive struggle to get into it (myself included). Here are some of my favorite fitness related gadgets to help make your workouts just a little bit better.

1. HEADPHONES-

Music can make a huge difference in your workout. Whether it's cardio or weight training, having some tunes in your ear can really help pump up the intensity. Before bluetooth headphones came out, I would always get frustrated with the cord of traditional headphones getting caught up on things, pulled down into my shirt while running, snagged and yanked out of my ear. Now there are endless options for wireless ear buds. These have become my favorite after using them for several years now. They stay put running, lifting, biking, no wires, self charging case, and it's easy to pause your music or skip songs.

2. LIFTING GLOVES-

I really only wear these to protect my rings when I lift. It helps protect against the rough textured handles of dumbbells and barbells, but I have small hands, so they can also make it harder to grip sometimes. You don't need anything too fancy, just somethings that suits your style and feels good. Here's an example pair I've used for years.

3. VERSA GRIPS-

These are ESSENTIAL for a heavy back workout. I'm personally not too concerned with grip strength, but I am absolutely concerned with how well I'm targeting my back muscles when I'm working them out. It's all about FEEL. The more you connect with and feel the muscles working, the better.

When you're able to lift more than what your grip can hold, Versa Grips become

extremely helpful.

4. SHOES-

Obviously most of us wear shoes while training. I found these cross training shoes a few years ago and am on my 3rd pair now. They are great for lifting because they have a nice flat sole to keep you balanced and sturdy during lifts, and they are supportive so they can also work well for other activities and movements in the gym. I wouldn't recommend doing any long distance running in them, but for general gym workouts they are great. And they have lots of different color options to choose from :)

5. WATER BOTTLE-

I'm sure you're aware that hydration is key to losing weight, building muscle and just staying healthy in general. Having a nice water bottle that you can have with you all the time can serve as a great reminder to drink water, account for how much you're drinking, and save on the over use of single use plastic water bottles. This hydro flask bottle is perfect! Not only is it a perfect size (I have a 40 oz bottle, they come in different sizes) but it is insulated so it keeps your water cold in the summer and whatever temperature you want it in the winter.

Also, I highly recommend investing in this straw lid for it as it makes it much easier to drink and sip water throughout the day, while driving, doing cardio, etc.
